It has come to my attention that these forums are really dead? Are people moving away from rc or are people just developing and not talking about it. I wonder because as a new realmcrafter owner, all the topics are really old and outdated now and it seems like no one even bothers to talk about realmcrafter.

Most of the RC discussion now occurs in the RC owners forum, as that's where all the RC gurus post. Most of the Torque MMOKit community has moved here now that the original TMMOKit site is offline, so the site is used mainly for general and TMMOKit discussion.

Thats a shame since most developers on those forums keep to themselves.

A lot of the posters here are RC owners (I know I am). However, most of them became disillusioned with it a long time ago due to the time between Solstar announcing a product and taking payments for it to the time it was actually stable and usable.

Not to worry though if you just bought it. I have heard RC Pro is shaping up, and if you are just now purchasing, you shouldn't be waiting long to make a full game with Pro. But for those of us who purchased RC five years ago and still don't have the source code we were told we would get in six months, we just had to move on :P

Thats understandable, yeah i am hoping for pro in a few months but I am developing in standard which has just now with the latest update is glitch free enough to create a decent small sized mmorpg. Would you happen to know if anyone on these forums are selling their standard licenses at a cheap price as i may be interested in buying a few additional copies of the software.

I don't think its legal to buy an RC license from anyone but Solstar. I haven't read the entire EULA for RC though so I could be wrong.

Yeah, it isn't possible. RC is locked to the computer setup that initially bought it, and even upgrading your PC will usually cause it to become locked which has to be reset by Solstar. Changing to another person would be basically impossible unless you wanted to give all of your personal info to them, and give them full access to your email account. I don't blame Solstar, though. They have kept current, usable versions of RC off of torrents as far as I know. Normally this kind of program would be up on warez sites within minutes of being released.

Also, Standard has been pretty much production-ready for some time. I can't remember the name off the top of my head, but there is a full, complete commercial game made with it. I have not tried it, though, since it unfortunately went with a one-time $25 purchase with no trial (an awful model for indie MMOs, but that is another conversation for another thread).
