General Rules:

  • Be nice (don't be a bummmdingy!) 
  • Read what other users post before you reply 
  • Respect others opinions 
  • No spam 
  • No porn 
  • No advertising by users EXCEPT in the "Shameless promotions" section of the forums. 
  • No "Buy/Sell" 
  • No offensive language 
  • No warez, copyrighted material or illegal content
  • No illegal activities or hints 
  • Do NOT post your real name or contact information in the forums. We dont' have an age restriction on this site, so for the protection of everyone we ask that you keep your personal info private. If you want to contact someone, or have them contact you, you can always send them a private message with your information. 
  • Do NOT post IP-addresses (not even your own! NO public IP-addresses, but PM if you need) 

Posting Rules:
  • Topic title MUST tell what the topic is about (not "Help!!1!") 
  • Topic and/or posts may NOT be in all-caps (not "WHERE IS "SETTINGS" IN RC?") 
  • Topic must be in the right sub-forum (no questions about models in the Scripting-forum) 
  • Topics may not be "copy posted" in different forums just to get "a fast answer"! 
  • Search before you write a new topic (Maybe someone has already asked your question! Also, double-check the official RC FAQ. Not there? Triple check!) 
  • When you reply, stay on-topic (don't tell us what you just ate or "Btw, your avatar is cool!") 
  • Double-posts should be avoided! Use the edit funtion! 
  • If you are going to add something different to the discussion, double-posting may be tolerated. (But the edit button is your edit buddy!) 
  • Admins and moderators may double-post, if the post are meant to make something about the site/rules clear! 
  • Don't delete your post/topic if someone replies to it. This just makes the forum confusing, and can result in the loss of valueable information for other users!
  • Please try to avoid necroing threads older than a month or so. If you really want to continue discussing something, just start a new topic! This keeps things fresh.
  • Play nice! We were all n00bs once. Except Gillvane. 

Live Chat Rules:
  • Don't spam with images, links or text! 
  • No adult content or topics.
  • Don't spam chat with your personal questions. If it doesn't get answered at first, you can always try the forum. 
  • Don't use chat for recruitment for your project. Chat is for general game development discussion.

Avatar & Signature Rules: 

  • Your avartar/signature may not be offensive to other people (nor the admins or moderators)! 
  • Big avartars/signatures are forbidden (they make the forum hard to read) 
  • Keep your avartar to a maximum of 120 x 120 pixels.

PM Rules:

  • If a user send offensive PMs, spam, etc. to other users, report to an admin but keep the PMs as evidence. 
  • The abusive user will, if the admin decides so, not be able to send more PMs and/or get a warning/ban! 

Spam:

  • In an attempt to prevent spam, your first post can not contain any links. Signatures are also affected. If you for some reason try this, a special filter will stop your post. You will get a error message instead, telling what was wrong with your post. Please use your browser's "Back" button and edit your post. Once you have manage to make your first valid post, this filter will not affect you. You can then start posting links and adding links to your signature. 
 

Bannings, locks, etc:

  • Questions about bannings, locks and post deletion should be asked directly to an admin or moderator using a PM! (preferably you should PM the one who were responsible of the lock, ban, etc.) 
  • If an admins or moderator locks a post, there will probably be a message regarding the reason. 
  • If an admins or moderator edits offensive text there will probably be a message regarding the reason. 
  • If an admins or moderator issues a ban there will be a note in the forum section called "Banned users" 
  • Users may be banned for a specific time or for life, even with an IP-ban. Check "Banned users" to see info about this. 

Remember:

  • If you break any rule you may get a warning! 
  • After 2 warnings, you are out of the game! (yes, a so called "ban") 
  • After some time, a warning may be removed it the user proves to have learned from his/her misstake! 
  • If the admin decides, that such action is required, a rulebreaker may be banned without any prior warnings! 
  • Admins and Moderators are here to help, and they do it for free! 
  • Constructive criticism are allowed, but remember that the rules are here to keep this site going. 
  • They keep the forums clean, but you have to help too. Good then that you know the rules now! 
  • The admins are free to add rules at any time so check for updates every now and then!
